Camping Regulations

Camp Hosts are available to assist campers.  You may email the Camp Host with questions (daily between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.). 

The Harbor District reserves the right to relocate currently paid campers at its discretion, e.g. during emergencies, foul weather, camper requests, special events, etc.

The Port San Luis Harbor District will implement new rules and regulations for the RV Camping effective January 7, 2019, to reflect the RV Camping Reservation system.  Please read the information below.

  • RV Camping is by RESERVATION ONLY.  Go to www.portsanluis.com, RV Camping to make a reservation.
  • There is a 14-day maximum stay limit.  Reservations made for longer than 14 days, those additional days will be cancelled, and a refund will not be issued.
  • Fully self-contained units only (installed & operable black & grey water hold tanks).
  • You must have a reservation prior to pulling into a RV Camping Space.
  • Third Party Vendors: 
    • Reservations are for personal use only.  Any resale, transfer, use, for profit activity, or memberships that are not approved in advance by the Port San Luis Harbor District are strictly prohibited and will be subject to immediate cancellation without notice, refund, or reimbursement.  You may also not be allowed to make any reservations or open new accounts.  There are currently no approved vendors to operate as third-party partners.
    • No outside, for profit (Airbnb, event companies, etc) vendor set-ups of RV’s, tables, chairs, etc. are allowed and is strictly prohibited and will be subject to immediate cancellation without notice, refund, or reimbursement.  You may also not be allowed to make any reservations or open new accounts.  There are currently no approved vendors permitted to provide this type of service.
  • Reservation Modifications:  Customers are permitted to have only up to two (2) reservations cancelled.
    • Modifications to Reservations:  
      • To modify your reservation, you will need to cancel your reservation and rebook for the stay you preferred.  Please email your request to campingrefunds@portsanluis.com

      • Provide your name, date of reservation, and reservation confirmation number
  • Cancellation Policy
    • 72 hours prior:  Full Refund, minus reservation fee
    • 48 hours prior:  50% Refund, minus reservation fee
    • Less than 48 hours:  No Refund
  • Abuse of the Reservation System will result in a ban in use.
  • Camp Hosts and/or District staff will not make a reservation for you.
  • Check-in:  2 pm; Check-out:  Noon (subject to Citation).  Early check-ins are not permitted.
  • TRAILER BOAT CAMPING - Check-in:  5 pm; Check-out:  Noon (subject to Citation)
  • Only RV/Trailer and ONE additional vehicle are allowed per space.
  • No washing of RV or Vehicles.
  • Leakage or discharge of ANY fluids strictly prohibited.
  • No camping in parking lot – RV’s in parking lot after 10:00 PM are subject to Citation.
  • Do not park, encroach or overhang onto asphalt road right-of-way.
  • Quiet Time Hours:  10:00 PM to 7:00 AM – THIS INCLUDES GENERATORS
  • No open fires – no barbeques, campfires, grills, heating or cooking devices, other than those which are contained within your campsite AND are fueled by propane or gas with active on/off controls, are permitted in any camping area of the District.
  • Dogs must be on a leash or in a contained area; must clean-up after dog.
  • Dump Station - $23 by appointment only from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM, AS AVAILABLE
  • Campsites must be occupied a minimum of one hour every 24 hours (subject to citation)
  • Violation of regulations may result in Citation and/or Eviction
  • *Be a good neighbor and assist your fellow RV campers by working together to ensure that camping space is used efficiently and cooperatively.
