Salmon Enhancement
Central Coast Salmon Enhancement, Inc.
(CCSE) is a non-profit, tax-exempt, volunteer corporation dedicated to
the enhancement and restoration of the Central Coast salmon fishery and
San Luis Obispo Creek. Nearly 70,000 salmon are reared and released every
year from Port San Luis Harbor. These fish contribute to the ocean
catch and the local economy. Most of the fish are caught by fishermen
but some escape to San Luis Obispo Creek. A sample of fish is captured
for data collection or harvested for charity.
CCSE is also devoted to educating the
community on the ecology and economy of these resources. Organized
by CCSE, Creek Day and Clean-Up removes unwanted trash and educates the
community about the watershed we all live in. CCSE also inventories
habitat and identifies creek restoration projects. Volunteers are
always needed. If you would like more information, please visit their
