Pier Fishing   Port San Luis has two public fishing piers, Avila Pier and Harford Pier.  Thanks to the open ocean conditions, clean water, and an abundance of bait fish, these piers enjoy excellent fishing opportunities.     In the Spring, you can fish for halibut, salmon, and mackerel.  Rockfish, sharks and barracuda are caught in Summer and Fall.  There are bait and tackle shops on both piers.  No license is required when fishing from either of the Port San Luis piers.  If you decide to do some surf fishing, however, you must obtain a fishing license.  Various types of fishing licenses are available from either of the sportfishing offices.
